Gwynedd Parry - Baritone
Dr Gwynedd Parry is a qualified barrister and a senior lecturer in law at Swansea University. He has published extensively on legal subjects (including through the medium of Welsh) and has lectured at universities throughout the world.
He has also enjoyed notable success as a singer. He achieved national recognition when he won the Osborne Roberts Memorial Blue Ribbon at the National Eisteddfod in 1998. Since then he has performed as a soloist with choirs throughout Wales, including performances of choral works such as the Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem and Stainer’s Cruxifiction.
He sang as principal baritone in a notable performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana at Huddersfield Town Hall a number of years ago, and he recently sang in concerts at Brecon Cathedral and Windsor Parish Church. He has also appeared as a soloist on S4C’s Noson Lawen.
He is a proud former winner of the Champion Solo at Upper Chapel Eisteddfod. His accompanist is his wife, Meinir Jones Parry.
