Helen Jones - Contralto
Born near Brecon, Helen began her vocal studies with Llinos Haf Williams and later Maureen Guy at The Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. She now studies singing with Jeanette Massocchi of Abergavenny.
Helen has achieved significant success competing in Eisteddfodau throughout the country and has won at the Urdd National Eisteddfod and Llangollen International Eisteddfod. She won the Contralto Solo (under 25yrs) at the National Eisteddfod at Builth and the Open Contralto Solo at the National Eisteddfod at Aberystwyth.
She is in much demand as a concert soloist and has performed as guest artist with many choirs, choral societies, orchestras and as an oratorio soloist both at home and abroad. Recent notable performances include Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem.
