Music on the Meadow 2010 Review
25.05.2011
Music on the Meadow 2010 Review Music on the Meadow saw a welcome return to The Meadow in 2010 following our Drover’s Supper the year before. There was a change of month, however, as the concert was staged in June for the first time. The usual preparations were underway during the week leading up to the concert and the well-orchestrated band of helpers worked in harmony to get the show up and running.
There was a distinctly local flavour to the show as Tenor Wynne Rees from Brecon was welcomed to The Meadow for the first time, along with Huw Condron, who kindly gave up his time to compere the event. Rhayader and District Male Voice, directed by David Hatton and accompanied by Bethan Rees, sang a number of well-liked and well-known hymns and songs. Anwen, Owen and Mairwen returned to the stage and Builth Wells Ladies Choir became the first female choir to tread the boards, conducted by Ionwen Davies.
In 2010, Music on the Meadow raised £3,744 for the chosen charities.
