Meinir Jones Parry – Accompanist

Meinir Parry JonesMeinir Jones Parry has close family connections with Breconshire, as her father, Aneurin Jones the artist, is a native of Cwmwysg, Trecastle. She is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (BMus), and is the holder of a postgraduate diploma of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) with distinction. A National Eisteddfod winner as a pianist, she was formerly Head of Music at Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi, Llandysul.

She is currently a freelance musician specialising in concert accompaniment. She has accompanied for many of Wales’s leading soloists and choirs (including Cantorion Teifi and Côr Undebol Ar ôl Tri). She has recorded CDs with various artists and has appeared many times on S4C.

Her portfolio also includes lecturing in music at Trinity College Carmarthen and music examiner for the WJEC. She is one of the official accompanists at Gŵyl Fawr Aberteifi, and was one of the official accompanists at last year’s Urdd National Eisteddfod at Llanerchaeron.
